Johannesburg - Eastern Cape police on Sunday appealed for public help in finding a Dutywa woman whose boyfriend died after she allegedly set him alight following a quarrel over condoms.

Lusindiso Sogiba, 40, died of his injuries in East London's St Dominic's hospital last Sunday after spending three weeks in hospital, said Captain Lingisile Magama.

His girlfriend allegedly doused him in petrol and set him on fire on February 24, after he argued with her about a brand of condoms he found in her possession.

"He confronted her about a condom type he doesn't use. In the early hours of the morning she poured petrol over him and set him alight," said Magama.
