1 dead, 3 arrested in robbery

Johannesburg - A robber was shot dead and three were arrested at a petrol station in Roodepoort on Friday night, said police.
The gang struck between 19:00 and 20:00 at the Engen garage shop at the corner of Corlett and Java roads, in Witpoortjie, Superintendent Eugene Opperman said on Saturday.
However, police got to hear about the robbery and arrived on the scene while the robbers were still there.
One robber died in the ensuing shootout, said Opperman. He said the other three were arrested.
Nothing was taken and a number of pistols were recovered.
