Pretoria - Three men were arrested on Wednesday after they were linked to various armed robberies around the Centurion Mall area in Pretoria, said a Tshwane metro police spokesperson.

William Baloyi said police were tipped off by a member of the public about the suspects' whereabouts.

"We confronted the suspects and searched them. The (suspects) had an unlicenced firearm, a knife, a toy gun and stolen goods in their possession."

He said that while police were there, a woman recognised one of the suspects and pointed out that the man had robbed her on Friday last week.

The men were handed over to Lyttelton police and were due to appear in court soon.
