Dennilton - A teacher was hijacked when she left school early for a doctor's appointment.
The teacher, Lydia Chiloane, 47, who teaches at the Batau Secondary School in Siyabuswa outside Dennilton in Mpumalanga, was attacked by three men on Tuesday.
"Her car was in the school yard and when she got in, three men approached her. They aimed a gun at her and ordered her to get out," said Captain Klaas Maloka.
When she saw the principal she screamed and the attackers went for him too.
The principal ran to one of the classrooms with the men chasing him.
In the chase, the robbers came across another teacher and took her cellphone and then turned back to the car and drove off.
The car was later found abandoned with a puncture.
The robbers are still at large.
