Three dead in Jhb shootings

Johannesburg - Three people were killed and five were injured in shootings around Johannesburg this week, paramedics said on Friday.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Nick Dollman said a security guard was shot dead in central Johannesburg on Thursday evening.
Two others were killed in separate incidents on Thursday, one on a plot in Muldersdrift.
The other was a hijacker who was shot dead in Midrand.
Captain Jethro Mtshali said two men tried to hijack a vehicle at a garage, but the occupant of the vehicle drew his firearm and shot one of them.
The other would-be hijacker fled.
Police found a 9mm pistol when they searched the deceased.
One of the five injured was a 20-year-old man who was shot in Alexandra in Johannesburg also on Thursday, while later in the day a man was shot and wounded in Benrose.
Three people were wounded - a policeman and two suspected hijackers - on the M1 freeway near Smit Street after a shootout between police and the suspected hijackers on Thursday.
