eNatis: 'No blanket amnesty'
04/06/2007 21:51 - (SA)
Cape Town - Problems with the e-Natis traffic data system did not mean there was a blanket amnesty on traffic fines, said Cape Town metro police deputy chief Heathcliff Thomas on Monday.
"We would like to make it clear that fines such as speed and moving violations, as well as vehicle defects still must be paid," he said.
"The city is still prosecuting those fines as before."
Those who wanted to query fines affected by e-Natis - especially fines for expired vehicle and driver's licences - could make representations and each case would be dealt with on its merits.
