10/06/2007 15:59 - (SA)
Johannesburg - Two 17-year-old boys were abducted from Ratanda Location, in Heidelberg, Gauteng police said on Sunday.
Constable Sefako Xaba said the pair were forcibly removed from their home by three people - a 34-year-old woman and two 16-year-old boys - on Thursday evening.
The three accused the boys of stealing coal.
"The boys were thrown into the back of a Toyota Venture and were taken to the Vaal Dam."
He said they were told by the kidnappers that if they did not own up, they would be thrown into the dam.
"The boys told the kidnappers that they did not know about what they are talking about and were then abandoned [by the three] in a nearby bush."
"They found their way back home and reported the incident to police on Friday."
The three alleged kidnappers were arrested and will appear in the Heidelberg Magistrate's Court on abduction charges on Monday.
