Mom in court to stop bully

East London - An East London mother has gone to court in a bid to obtain an interdict against a pupil accused of breaking her son's jaw, The Herald Online reported on Tuesday.
It said she had asked the court to rule that the "bully" be suspended with immediate effect, pending an inquiry.
The two pupils, both aged 14, are in the same grade nine class at Stirling High School in East London.
Respondents in the matter included the father of the alleged aggressor, members of the executive council of education for the Eastern Cape, the headmaster, and the chairperson of the school board.
The mother of the victim, who could not be named, was seeking to compel the school to put in place measures that would guarantee safety in schools.
In an affidavit, which forms part of the court documents, the teenager says his classmate has been bullying him for a year now for no reason.
"He is bigger and stronger than I am and I am extremely afraid of him. For unknown reasons he has taken a particular dislike to me and bullies me at every opportunity".
The mother says: "Two months after a discussion with the headmaster, I was phoned by another school official who said my son had been punched and injured at the school by the same boy."
She says her son's jaw was wired and that he was losing weight because he could only drink liquid through a straw.
The matter will be argued in the Port Elizabeth High Court on June 18. The mother has also opened an assault case with the East London police against her son's alleged attacker.
