Two friends die in accident

Johannesburg - A man shot himself at an accident scene where a friend was killed in Germiston, paramedics said on Saturday.
Netcare 911 Spokesperson Nick Dollman said the man shot himself after his bakkie overturned and landed on his friend who was sitting at the back of the bakkie.
The man and two friends had left the Germiston Golf Club before the accident occurred on Friday evening.
Two men sat at the back of the bakkie.
"The bakkie overturned in the parking lot and the two men in the back were thrown from the vehicle."
Dollman said the bakkie subsequently landed on top of one of the men.
"The two friends, tried to get the man out, but were unsuccessful," he said.
He said that another man with a bakkie arrived on the scene, and used a tow rope to pull the vehicle off the man.
"After discovering that his friend had died, the driver produced a gun and shot himself in the head."
Dollman said paramedics arrived and concluded that both men had died on the spot.
Police were not available for comment.
