5 killed as truck hits taxi

Johannesburg - A minibus taxi and a truck collided head-on on the N12 near Wolmaransstad, leaving five people dead and one injured, North West police said on Wednesday.
Superintendent Emmanuel Reetsang said: "The truck was travelling from Wolmaransstad at about 22:40 last night. It was 40km from Klerksdorp and the minibus was travelling to Wolmaransstad when the two collided head-on."
It was not clear who was at fault, he said.
"The minibus had five occupants, including the driver. Two of these were school children. Everyone in the minibus died instantly on the scene."
The truck was carrying one male passenger, the driver's assistant. His right leg was broken, and he was taken to hospital.
