Cape Town - Two taxi drivers were shot dead in separate incidents in Cape Town, said Western Cape police on Sunday.
The first driver was gunned down while still in his taxi, parked outside a house in Boesak Street, Wallacedene, on Saturday night, said spokesperson Bernadine Steyn.
"It is alleged that an unknown male approached Armstrong Mayekiso's Toyota Hi-Ace on foot and fired several shots at him about 20.15 on Saturday."
Mayekiso was hit in the chest and neck, she said.
He died in the street while his assailant fled on foot.
In the other incident, a 27-year-old driver was shot dead outside a house in Matshowa Street, also in Wallacedene, on Friday evening.
Killers fled on foot
Mandisi Jezile was also sitting in his minibus when two men approached him on foot and fired several shots.
"He had gunshot wounds to the head and died in the street," said Steyn.
Jezile's killers also fled on foot.
No one has been arrested in connection with the two killings and police will not rule out the possibility that they could be linked, she said.
"The motive is unknown, but we are investigating the two incidents."
