One dead in CT robbery

Pretoria - A robber was killed when he and another man tried to rob a store at a garage in Koeberg Road, Milnerton, Cape Town police said on Monday.
Inspector Bernadine Steyn said the two men entered the shop on Sunday afternoon, armed with a pistol and a knife.
"The men pointed the gun at two employees in the shop and demanded money," Steyn said.
Police were notified and arrived minutes later.
When one of the robbers saw the police, he pointed his gun at them and the policemen opened fire. The robber was shot in the head and killed. Police confiscated a knife and the pistol.
His accomplice, 27-years-old from the Joe Slovo settlement near Milnerton, was arrested on the scene.
Steyn said a 31-year-old man, who was an employee at the store, was also arrested on Monday morning as an accomplice.
The two men will appear in Cape Town Magistrate's Court on Wednesday to face charges of armed robbery.
