Johannesburg - A 30-year-old man was wounded in a hijacking outside the Nandos on the corner of St Johns and Old Main road, Pinetown, on Wednesday night, paramedics said.
ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks said the man and two women were walking to their car with takeaways when they were attacked by three hijackers.
The robbers shot the man in the left hip before taking his car, he said.
He was taken to the RK Khan Hospital in a stable condition. The women were "shaken up, but fine".
Banks said the car was found a kilometre from the scene. It was thought the hijackers had crashed the vehicle because its left, front passenger wheel was damaged.
