Johannesburg - Three people were injured when a goods truck rammed into a railway line crashing into an oncoming train on Wednesday, said paramedics.
ER 24 spokesperson Riana Beech said the 20-ton truck had been travelling along the Roger Dyson road in Pretoria West when its brakes failed causing it to lose control.
"The truck lost control, and it ran down an embankment towards the tracks where there was an approaching train at about 06:00.
The approaching train crashed into the truck," she said.
The truck driver managed to escape from the truck while three commuters from the train were injured.
"The injured where taken to the Tshwane District and Kalafong hospitals in a stable condition.
"Paramedics at the scene are busy rescuing a fourth person stuck in the wreck," she said.
