Johannesburg - A Leeu-Gamka husband and wife, initially arrested for child abandonment after the body of a 13-year-old was found in a water-tank, have been charged with murder.
They are scheduled to appear in the Prince Albert's Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Western Cape police spokesperson Ntobeko Mangqwengqwe said on Sunday this development followed preliminary investigations after the discovery of the decomposed body of Elizabeth Martiens.
She went missing on April 14. Nine missing girls murdered

The girl was found dead three days after she had been reported missing.
Nine days before Sonja's body was found, the body of six-year-old Micaela Rossouw was found in a box under a bed in the backyard shack of a neighbour's house in Swellendam.

Also in Modimolle, the body of another eight-year-old was
found about a month earlier, on April 13.
The girl was found strangled in the bushes after she was reported
missing the day before. She and a six-year-old neighbour were
confronted by an unknown man while on their way to her uncle's home in Flora
Park. The younger child managed to escape, but the older girl was kidnapped.
The body of an eight-year-old girl was found in a field at Breipaal
near Douglas in the Northern Cape on April 4, three days after she went
missing. She had been beaten with a blunt object.
The girl had been sent to buy groceries by her parents on April 1 and did not
return home. Body wrapped in sheep skin
On March 12, the body of six-year-old Naledi Ndebele was found
