Hijackers caught in heist

Johannesburg - Police spokesperson Juanita Kilian says two hijackers have been arrested and a policeman wounded during a gun battle in Springs.
Kilian said the incident happened at Mzumbi Extension in Springs when police were tracking down a hijacked car that a tracking company located in Springs.
Three occupants in the car sped off when the police spotted it and the police gave chase.
The police were shot at, with one policeman hit in the knee.
Two people were eventually arrested and the third person managed to flee.
Police recovered an AK47 rifle and the hijacked vehicle.
The policeman was in stable condition in hospital.
