Cape Town - Police spokesperson Elliot Sinyangana says eight men have held up and robbed two Transcash security guards in Blue Downs on Monday morning.
Sinyangana said the security guards had been driving near a school in Blackheath when their cash van was rammed off the road by two other vehicles.
"A White Mercedes Benz and Ford Courier deliberately collided with the cash vehicle."
He said the robbers pointed firearms at the guards and asked for the truck keys.
"The driver handed over the keys and they were instructed to lie down on the ground."
The robbers took two cash boxes containing an undisclosed amount of money. They fled in a white Audi and a Jetta.
"No gunshots were fired, there were no injuries and no arrests were made."
Police were investigating charges of armed robbery and anyone with information should contact crime stop on 08600 10111.
