Vaalwater - Workers at a luxury game farm in Limpopo have found the remains of a person who they suspect was killed by lions.
Police were called after a worker on a routine patrol at Shambala discovered blood, some bones and clothes in the veld on Sunday.
There are lions on the farm, which belongs to mega-rich businessman Douw Steyn.
Limpopo police spokesperson Ronel Otto said the remains appeared to be those of Johannes Molemi, 49, who'd been visiting a friend at Shambala.
She said it seemed as if Molemi had tried to climb a tree to escape the lions.
It was not clear if Steyn was on the farm at the time of the incident.
Steyn, who also owns the boutique hotel Saxon Hotel in Sandhurst, Johannesburg, has business interests world-wide.
Steyn was in the news in August last year when a former friend sued him for R1.2m after his fiancée, Donne Botha, allegedly attacked her with a champagne bottle.
