Doped kids lead cops to drug den
13/09/2007 17:48  - (SA)

  • Drug accused goes 'AWOL'
  • Drug overdoses on the rise
  • Bouncers 'not friends' with teen
  • Johannesburg - In Mamelodi on Wednesday, a 17-year-old girl and a 25-year-old man were arrested for possession of dagga and cocaine.

Ramaloko said teachers called the police to a primary school, after some of the children were found to be acting in a strange manner.

Police found dagga in their possession and they led the police to a house where they got the drug.

A 25-year-old man was found in possession of 65 packets of dagga and the teenage girl was found in possession of cocaine.

In a separate incident, a 19-year-old woman was arrested for possession of drugs while police were looking for three men who had earlier robbed a shop in Onderstepoort, Pretoria police said on Thursday.

Inspector Paul Ramaloko said the woman was arrested on Wednesday in Sunnyside at the home of a Nigerian man allegedly involved in a robbery at a shop earlier.

"Police went to the home of the Nigerian man looking for three other men who had fled from the scene of the robbery, and they found the drugs," he said.

The three men had driven off in a bullet-riddled car after a shoot-out with police in Onderstepoort. The fourth man, the Nigerian, was arrested.
