Man in court for killing DJ

Johannesburg - A 40-year-old man has appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday on a charge of beating a hotel disc jockey to death, police said.
Linda Bhengu was not asked to plead, said Captain Bhekizizwe Mavundla.
He is alleged to have fatally beaten an Ambassador Hotel DJ in Pretoria street during the early hours of Saturday.
Mavundla said the DJ was attacked on the street after his night performance.
"The only thing that was taken was his cellphone. His money was left in his pocket. At this stage the motive of the murder is still not clear," said Mavundla.
The case was postponed to September 26 for bail application.
