Durban - Another two bodies have been found in the sugarcane fields near the KwaZulu-Natal town of Umzinto.
While police have declined to officially comment, Sapa has learnt that two more bodies were found in the sugarcane fields adjacent to the Shayamoya township of Umzinto on Thursday.
Umdoni deputy mayor Bongani Khanyile, who confirmed the discovery, said residents were very relieved that the accused did not come from within their own community.
Police spokesperson Superintendent Zandra Hechter said police would be issuing a press statement at 11:00 on Friday.
This means that seven bodies have been found in the sugarcane field.
Last weekend five people were arrested in connection with the initial discovery of five bodies.
Two people were released late on Tuesday, while three others appeared in the Umzinto Magistrates Court on charges of abduction and murder.
One of the three people arrested is believed to have directed police to the two bodies discovered on Thursday.
