Johannesburg - National lottery tickets will go on sale on October 5 with the first draw taking place on October 13, the newly appointed operator Gidani announced on Friday.

"Lotto is back," said a smiling Gidani CEO Bongani Khumalo.

He also announced that the guaranteed winning jackpot for the first draw would be R15m.

Lotto punters will be able to buy tickets from 7 000 retailers across the country.

Ticket prices will remain unchanged with a ticket going for R2.50 and an additional R1 for the Lotto Plus draw.
