02/11/2007 17:11 - (SA)
Johannesburg - Police seized cocaine with a street value of R50m at OR Tambo International Airport on Friday, a spokesperson said.
Captain Dennis Adriao said the drugs were found on a plane from Brazil.
"No arrests have been made," he said.
He said the bust on Friday brought the number of drug finds at the airport to four in the space of only three weeks.
"On Sunday cocaine valued at R5m was seized; before that mandrax tablets valued at R5.8m and dagga valued at R2 000 was seized".
He said there was a syndicate smuggling drugs through the airport.
"We are in contact with Interpol to root-out drug trafficking," Adriao said.
