Pietermaritzburg - A KwaZulu-Natal schoolgirl told the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Tuesday how she was raped three times after skin was cut from her.
The 17-year-old testified that an old woman, a co-accused, told the rapist they should kill her. The girl was only released when she begged for her life.
Thawana Zungu, 76, is also charged with three rapes as she allegedly helped co-accused Tony Mkhize rape the girl after cutting skin from her.
They are also charged with kidnapping her and aggravated assault. Zungu is also charged with incitement to murder. They previously pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The victim said Zungu took the piece of flesh cut from her, put it into a plastic bag and mixed it with pieces of plants. She then said that Zungu "had what she wanted".
The girl's brother - his name was not given to shield her identity - told the court that when he spoke to people about the horrendous acts perpetrated on his sister, a bystander said it "sounded typical of Zungu who went around killing children".
This led to the arrest of Zungu and Mkhize.
Zungu is also charged with the rapes, allegedly perpetrated by Mkhize, because she allegedly kept watch while the crime was perpetrated and prevented the teenager from resisting or escaping.
The trial continues.
