    Uitenhage - A 21-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a park ranger in the Thornhill area between Humansdorp and Loerie, Uitenhage police said on Monday.

    The rape took place on Friday morning. Inspector Gerda Swart said the woman was given a lift from Humansdorp to Loerie by a man in a park ranger's uniform - who pulled over and allegedly raped her.

    The man then dropped the woman off at Loerie where she reported the incident to police.

    A 38-year-old man was arrested shortly thereafter and would appear in the Hankey Magistrate's Court on Monday, police said.
