    Cape Town - The N2 between George and Knysna in the Southern Cape is closed to traffic due to severe flooding in the Sedgefield area, the SABC reported Friday.

    No alternate route has been put forward yet.

    On Thursday, emergency authorities evacuated people from Plettenberg Bay.

    The NSRI also assisted 75 people trapped by rising water near the Keurbooms River.

    Hundreds more were taken to safety further west along the coast at George, Little Brak and Groot Brak River.
