Nelspruit - The lawyer of a suspected cash-heist kingpin phoned a court to ask for his client's trial to be postponed because the man hadn't paid him yet.
He told Nelspruit Regional Court that if his client didn't pay him by the trial date, he would no longer represent him.
The case was postponed on Wednesday to February 19.
Namibian-born Emmanuel Barros, 36, is being held at Mokopane Prison in Limpopo.
He is accused of masterminding an attack on Empilweni Payout Service in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.
An armed gang attacked an Empilweni van at the entrance to the company's premises on February 1.
Several cash boxes containing R500 000 were loaded into a BMW and the gang fled.
Barros was arrested the same day at a flat in Nelspruit city centre. He hasn't yet pleaded to charges of robbery and police still are searching for four other suspects.
Barros also faces a separate murder and attempted-robbery case in Limpopo.
He is implicated in an attack on a cash-in-transit van, in which the van was set alight, killing the four guards inside.
