Port Elizabeth - An Eastern Cape man has been robbed of a substantial amount of money by a bogus traffic cop and two accomplices, the SABC reported on Friday.
The man was instructed to pull over by the bogus traffic officer who accused him of speeding.
Two accomplices then arrived and pointed firearms at him, the broadcaster reported.
The two men got into his bakkie with him while the bogus traffic officer jumped on the back of the vehicle. They instructed him to drive towards Uitenhage.
The bogus traffic officer then got off first near the centre of town - and further in town, his accomplices robbed the man of his cash before running away.
The man had been on his way to buy stock for his tavern when he was held up.
No arrests have been made, the SABC reported.
