Mom, son shot dead in Joburg Husband gives himself up

Johannesburg - A husband shot dead his wife and a relative after a quarrel on a farm near Mthatha, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.

Spokesperson Superintendent Mzukisi Fatyela said the 39-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and the 33-year-old relative at Rosedale Trust Farm at 15:45 on Sunday.

It is alleged that the couple had a quarrel and the relative tried to intervene, but was also shot dead, said Fatyela.

"Eight cartridges from a 9mm pistol and two projectiles were found at the scene."

The man is known, but no arrests have been made as yet, he said.

Police are investigating a case of murder.
