Johannesburg - A 33-year-old man was expected to appear in the Uitenhage Magistrate's Court on Thursday in connection with armed robberies at filling stations, police said.
Inspector Gerda Swart said he was arrested on Monday after three similar cases were reported in the area.
"The suspect would drive to petrol stations, fill up his tank and then rob attendants at gunpoint of money and their cellphones," she said.
He is facing two counts of armed robbery, one of theft and one of pointing a firearm.
Swart called on people robbed in the same manner in Uitenhage, but who did not report the cases, to contact the police.
