Johannesburg - Two men, wanted for house robbery and rape, appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court on Monday, said police.
The men were wanted for the rape of three women in a house in Buccleuch and have been linked to four other house robberies and a rape case in Sandton and Bramley, north of Johannesburg.
The men were also found in possession of stolen goods worth more than R500 000.
On December 12, a group of five armed men held up a family in Buccleuch and raped three house occupants.
"They ransacked the house and stole two vehicles, jewellery cell phones, a DVD player and a television - a manhunt is underway for the other three perpetrators," said Superintendent Lungelo Dlamini.
On December 25, Sandton detectives received information and traced two men, George Nyembe, 32, and Amanda Makamu, 32, to Alexandra.
They were found in possession of a 9mm pistol with the serial number removed, a TV, a music system, a large quantity of tools, clothing, two cellphones, a large amount of jewellery and a DVD player said Dlamini.
It is suspected that these goods were stolen from various houses in the northern suburbs and police are encouraging members of the community to view these items.
"The men appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court today (Monday) and their case has been remanded to January 9 2008 for further investigation," said Dlamini.
A manhunt for the three other men is underway.
