Pretoria guard shot in robbery

Johannesburg - A security guard was shot during one of three attempted house robberies in one night at a complex in Garsfontein, Pretoria east, police said on Saturday.
Captain Lucas Sithole said they received a telephone call from residents saying that two unknown men had twice attempted to break into the complex on Friday at about 01:00.
"Officers went to the scene and took statements. A while later they received another call from the same complex saying there was a shooting at the gate. A security guard had been shot."
Sithole said when the guard was shot, the third time around, the robbers still escaped empty handed.
The guard was in a stable condition in hospital.
There were no further injuries reported and no arrests were made.
