  • Johannesburg - The body of a woman was found with stab wounds on her neck, in her apartment in Table View, Western Cape police said on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Inspector Bernadine Steyn said the woman, Andiswa Mpumza, 27, was found by police and family members on Saturday.

"She had several stab wounds to her neck, and was partially clothed," Steyn said.

She said Mpumza was last seen alive by her family on Wednesday.

"They were concerned when she did not pitch for work on Thursday and Friday and then requested police to assist in opening the apartment door.

"There was no sign of forced entry into her apartment on the corner of Gie and Main Roads, Parklands," Steyn said.

She said the motive for the incident appeared to be robbery as Mpumza's two cellphones, TV-decoder, DVD-player and a set of keys were missing.

Nobody was arrested and police were investigating. Anyone with information can contact the Table View police on 021 5213300 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
