DA: We didn't copy Obama
Some say the DA's new logo bears a striking resemblance to a logo we've seen before.
SA politicians don't 'click'
Obama did. But experts say local political parties don't understand the value of a techno-savvy campaign.

  • Johannesburg - A former dormitory matron at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy arrived at Sebokeng Magistrate's Court on Wednesday to face charges of child abuse.

Tiny Makopo, 27, arrived just before 08:00 and sat in courtroom 5, her face covered with a towel.

Forty five minutes later she was escorted by her friends and the police out of the courtroom. It was believed she was being kept at the nearby police station.

Police spokesperson Superintendent Nthabiseng Mazibuko addressed media outside the Sebokeng police station and said police were acting on court instructions issued on Makopo's last appearance that her face should not be in the media because the case involved minors.

Makopo faces charges of indecent assault, common assault, soliciting minors to perform indecent acts, and verbal abuse.

The case is expected to start at 11:00.
