Hijackers get 1 071 years Cops 'tried to hijack truck' Cops 'too drunk' to help victim

Johannesburg - A 44-year-old man was hijacked and blind-folded before being dropped off in the veld near Lesley in Mpumalanga, police said on Wednesday.

Spokesperson Abie Khoabane said David Mudumeli's white truck with the registration number SWL247GP was stolen on Monday morning.

"He (Madumeli) was driving from Lesley to Delmas when he was pounced on by two armed men at a T-Junction."

Khoabane said a silver-grey sedan stopped behind the truck and two armed men forced him out of his vehicle.

"He was blindfolded and his hands were tied, but he was left in the nearby fields unharmed. The suspects drove of with the truck," he said.

No arrests have been made.
