Man hijacked, left in veld Durban cop shot in hijacking Hijackers strike in Witbank

Johannesburg - Three men have been arrested on hijacking charges in Midrand, north of Johannesburg on Friday, police said.

Captain Mega Ndobe said police followed a dark grey BMW X5 from Sandton. They stopped the vehicle in Midrand and three 9mm pistols, jewellery as well as 11 cellphones were found in their possession.

On investigation it was established that the car was hijacked in Pretoria.

He said police were investigating whether the three, aged between 26 and 38, were linked to a house robbery in Sandton.

They had been charged with possession of suspected cellphones, possession of a suspected hijacked vehicle, as well as illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
