Man shot in hijack attempt

Durban - A 39-year-old Durban man was shot on Monday night after an attempted hijacking, police said on Tuesday.
Inspector Michael Read said the incident took place on John Dory Drive in Newlands East at 19:20.
"It is alleged that four armed men attempted to hijack Michael Steynburg and when they failed in their attempt, they fired shots," said Read.
Steynburg was shot in the stomach and hand.
The hijackers fled in a Nissan Sentra.
Read said no arrests had been made.
