Suspected thief stoned to death

Johannesburg - A suspected thief was stoned to death by community members, Mpumalanga police said on Tuesday.
Superintendent Abie Khoabane said the residents of Calcutta accused the man of stealing from their properties and they stoned him. He died at the scene.
"We strongly condemn mob justice and warn against people taking the law into their own hands," said Khoabane.
Police were investigating a case of murder and no arrests had been made.
In a separate incident a truck was hijacked near Standerton by four men.
"Four men in a red Corolla drove beside the truck and told the driver his trailer was coming loose.
"When the driver stopped the men hijacked the truck and dropped the driver and his assistant at a nearby field," he said.
