  • Isidingo actress in crash
  • Johannesburg - Feisty Isidingo actress Ashley Callie was still in intensive care at a Johannesburg hospital on Monday after a serious car crash over the weekend, her sister Lauren said.

"She's still stable but she's in a critical condition," said Lauren Callie.

The 32-year-old actress, best known for her role as Lee Haines in Isidingo, was in an accident on the corner of 4th Avenue and Tana Road in Johannesburg on Friday evening.

She has already had surgery to relieve pressure on her brain.

Callie was driving alone in a Smart Car, when there was a head-on collision with a red Renault.

The driver of the Renault, a male, and two female passengers were also seriously injured and transported to Milpark Hospital.

Lauren Callie said her sister had been receiving numerous messages of support "which have been most comforting".
