Robbers hit Kempton Park family Robber shot during break-in Robbers wanted cell, not car

Johannesburg - A young couple was held at gunpoint and then tied-up in their Douglasdale home by three robbers on Monday night, police said on Tuesday.

The robbers forced the couple into their bedroom where they tied them up with cables and belts, Inspector Balan Muthan said.

The 28-year-old woman was painting and her boyfriend watching television when three men entered their home in Douglasdale, North of Johannesburg.

The three took the house safe and cellphones and fled in the woman's Audi.

The couple managed to free themselves and called their neighbours for help.

Police are investigating, Muthan said.
