Durban - A woman whose car fell from one Durban highway onto another on Sunday morning, was killed and her two passengers injured, police said.
eThekwini Metro police spokesperson John Tyala said the driver had lost control of her vehicle near Pinetown.
Her car then veered off the N3 highway on a bridge that passed over the M7 highway near Pinetown.
ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks said that paramedics at the scene had reported that the car had fallen about five metres before landing on the M7.
The driver of the car was killed while her two passengers were critically injured.
One woman was ejected from the back of the car.
The Durban Fire Brigade had to use the Jaws of Life to free another passenger.
Tyala said speed "may have played a role".
