Hundreds of crashes across SA

Johannesburg - Netcare 911 said on Sunday it had dispatched emergency vehicles to 334 motor vehicle accidents and 44 collisions involving pedestrians throughout South Africa since Thursday morning.
Spokesperson Nick Dollman said that in one Easter weekend accident, on Sunday, an adult died and 17 people were injured when a minibus taxi and a car crashed on Kliprivier Drive at the R59 crossing in Alberton.
"A two-year-old girl was placed onto emergency life support before being airlifted by the Netcare 911 helicopter to the Johannesburg hospital."
The accident was attended to by Netcare 911, the provincial ambulance service and traffic police authorities.
