Johannesburg - Robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of money after a break in at a butchery in Frankfort in the northern Free State, police said on Monday.
Spokesperson Sergeant Philani Mvuna said cash, biltong and dry boerewors were stolen at Aberdeen Slaghuis on Sunday night.
He said it appeared that the robbers gained entry into the butchery through a window.
They took the money from a cash safe box in the manager's office and also from an automated teller machine which is inside the butchery.
They used a cutting torch to open the ATM.
No arrest has been made and police have opened a case of housebreaking and theft, he said.
