Snake found in gym pool

Nelspruit - If it's not a large python slithering down one of Nelspruit's main streets, then it's a snake causing members of a gym to break out in a sweat.
Hi-Tech Security's reaction unit in Nelspruit solved these two slippery problems this week.
On Wednesday night a three-metre python caused great excitement when it was spotted in Van Wijk Street.
According to Jakes Strydom, manager of Hi-Tech Security, an anxious motorist phoned them in the middle of the night with the news that the snake was slithering down the street without a care in the world.
"It took some serious wrestling to get the big guy under control and round him up," he said.
Set free in mountains
Werner Ungerer, an amateur snake expert and who lives in the street, heard the racket and stepped in to help catch the reptile.
The snake was released later in the Krokodilpoort Mountains, about 25km outside Nelspruit.
At the weekend Hi-Tech Security personnel searched for a snake for two days after it had been spotted in the Virgin Active gym.
"The snake was later found in the gym's swimming pool."
It, too, was released in the Krokodilpoort Mountains.
