Lolly flags down cops Lolly's going nowhere Teazers boss 'under a shrink'

Johannesburg - Lolly Jackson, owner of the Teazers clubs, handed himself over to police at the Sandton police station on Thursday after a former employee laid charges of assault against him.

Jackson, who had been at police station since 09:00, was apparently held for longer than eight hours before being released on R500 bail.

One of Jackson's kitchen staff laid a charge of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm against him at the end of March.

He claimed that the Teazers boss had shot him with rubber bullets and made racist remarks towards him.

Jackson denied these allegations on Thursday via his lawyer Allan Allschwang.

Allschwang apparently tried all day on Thursday to have his client released.

"My client denies these allegations and he was detained illegally," he said.

Jackson said the police treated him well and even offered him coffee.

Police spokesperson superintendent Lungelo Dlamini confirmed on Thursday that Jackson had handed himself over to police.

He could not comment on Allschwang's claim that his client was being held illegally.

Jackson appeared in the Randburg Magistrate's Court.
