Cops steal 'evidence'

Johannesburg - Two metro police officer were arrested in Mayfair on Saturday after confiscating property and cash under the pretence it was to be used in an investigation, Johannesburg metro police said.
"The officers, aged 32 and 33, went into a man's flat in the CBD and confiscated six laptops he was repairing and R2 200.
"They alleged the computers were confiscated for investigations," said spokesperson Wayne Minnaar.
Minnaar said these computers are believed to have been sold and the money split among them.
They were charged for corruption and would appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.
