Johannesburg - Two men were shot and injured in Wilgeheuwel, west of Johannesburg on Thursday, Gauteng police said.

Captain Sphiwe Ndlovu said the men were getting out of a minibus taxi around 08:00 when they were shot at by two masked men.

The shooters ran away without taking anything from the men, Ndlovu said.

They were taken to hospital in a critical condition, he said.

Police were investigating.
