Truck driver dies in crash Accidents keep medics busy 43 injured in KZN crash

Durban - Four people were seriously wounded in an accident at the corners of Argyle and Avondale road in Morningside on Saturday, Kwa-Zulu Natal paramedics said.

ER24 spokesperson Derricks Banks said the accident occurred when an Audi driving along Argyle road towards Durban collided with a VW Golf on Montpellier road driving towards Avondale road.

Banks said one of the injured passengers, who had been ejected from one of the vehicles, was treated for possible back injuries and taken to a near by hospital.

The other three passengers were treated at the scene for possible neck and back injuries and taken to the hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Banks said the impact of the accident was severe as the engine and gear box from the golf was torn out of the engine block.

He said the accident was been investigated by the SAPS collision unit and metro police.
