Long weekend ends in tragedy

Durban - Five Gauteng residents died in a two-car collision at Van Reenen's Pass near Ladysmith, the KwaZulu-Natal Transport Department said on Monday.
Spokesperson Zinhle Mngomezulu said the incident took place on the N3 north bound freeway on Sunday afternoon.
She said all five victims were from Gauteng and were in KZN for the weekend. They had been returning home at the time.
"Four died at the scene and the fifth person died in hospital," she said.
It was unclear if the five were part of one family.
Mngomezulu said the cause of the accident was being investigated.
