Robbers snatch cash cache

Humansdorp - Seven men robbed a Protea Coin Security guard of a cash box here and fled with a large amount of cash, said Eastern Cape police on Sunday.
Superintendent Priscilla Naidu said the security guard had gone to the Trade Value store in Humansdorp on Saturday to collect money.
When he left the store, the security guard was held at gunpoint by seven men, three of whom were armed.
The men took the cash box and his firearm before jumping into a bakkie and fleeing.
The driver of the security van gave chase. One of the men in the bakkie fired a shot at the driver, but missed.
The men fled into KwaNozamo township near Humansdorp.
Police were investigating a case of armed robbery, but no arrests had been made, said Naidu.
